Principal

Steven R. Madden, CPA, MST

Responsibilities
Mr. Madden is a Principal in Miller Cooper’s tax department. He brings 21 years of experience providing middle market companies with expert tax guidance and business initiatives. Prior to joining Miller Cooper, Steve practiced with a “Big 4” accounting firm.

Relevant Experience
Mr. Madden specializes in tax and business planning for closely held businesses. His areas of interest include state and local taxation, corporate merger and acquisition transactions, and financial planning, including family wealth and succession planning. Over the years, Steve has represented various manufacturers, distribution companies, and service companies.

Education and Professional Activities
Mr. Madden earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Illinois and a Masters of Science from Roosevelt University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, and Washington State CPA Society. Mr. Madden also served on the IRS Practice & Procedures Group of the Illinois CPA Society.

Steve is a committee member of Baker Tilly International’s State and Local Tax Group. He is a frequent speaker at Baker Tilly conferences.
