Principal

Andrew L. Mace, CPA

Responsibilities
Mr. Mace is a Principal at Miller Cooper, specializing in the government and nonprofit sectors. He coordinates and directs the activities of the audit team on these engagements, and serves as the primary contact with clients.

Relevant Experience
Andy devotes his career to working with local governments, having serviced the public sector since 1986. Andy’s efforts and continuing education are invested in staying ahead of issues and changes impacting local governments.

Mr. Mace has served numerous villages, more than fifty school districts and vocational or special education cooperatives, plus other local governmental units and not-for-profit organizations. Andy’s focus is audit, internal control review and enhancement, and operational consulting. He conducts numerous consulting engagements that result in improved operational efficiency, and better communication of relevant financial and accounting findings within a government or nonprofit entity.

Education and Professional Activities
Andy holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed to practice in the State of Illinois. Andy belongs to the Association of School Business Officials International, Illinois Association of School Business Officials, Accounting Committee Member, Illinois CPA Society, Governmental Accounting Executive Committee, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a reviewer for ASBO International’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting program and serves on the Financial Information Advisory Committee of the Illinois State Board of Education.
