Martin H. Birnbaum, CPA

Responsibilities
Martin H. Birnbaum joined Miller Cooper & Co., Ltd. in 1976 and was named a Principal in 1981. He currently serves as head of the firm’s Litigation Support Group. He also is a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Construction Industry Groups.

Relevant Experience
Mr. Birnbaum’s special expertise includes the areas of construction, real estate development and institutional food supply distributors. Marty continues to conduct intricate forensic accounting engagements for a variety of entities and individuals. He has served as a member of the real estate committee of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Birnbaum has also written various articles that have appeared in Crain’s Chicago Business, National Mall Monitor, Inc. Magazine and The Illinois CPA Society’s Magazine, Insight.

Education and Professional Activities
Mr. Birnbaum holds Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees in accounting, which he received in 1968 and 1969 respectively, from the University of Illinois. He received his CPA certificate in 1968, and is a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Certified Fraud Examiners Association.

Marty has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Wilmette Public Library and has served as board president, vice-president and treasurer. He is a past treasurer of the New Trier Township Schools.
